Summarize how to check my bidders' performances?
During your daily monitoring, you want to check the performance of your bidders.
First of all, let's focus on one specific website because we want to analyze the setup of every bidder on one ad slot for one website.
We have to do a quick review of each ad slot in order to verify we don't have:
- Bid rate = 0%
- High Timeout rates
- An abnormal number of bidders for a specific ad slot
We take the first ad slot (Side-Left-6376) to notice there are two bidders configured and one of them, Index Exchange, has a very low bid rate. It has a very low bid rate but Index Exchange is sending bid responses (Bid rate > 0%), which means the integration of the bidder is working but is performing extremely badly.
We carry on with the second ad slot (Sticky-5282) to realize that Index Exchange performs very well, which is surprising because on two different ad slots on the same website, Index Exchange doesn't have the same behavior at all.
It can be due to several reasons:
- A setup issue on this specific ad slot
- No demand for the bidder for the ad sizes requested
- Others
On the third ad unit (Side-Left-6946), only Rubicon is setup but is performing pretty good whereas on the fourth ad unit (InRead-4912), we are in the same situation as the first ad unit we checked.
There is a problem with Index Exchange and we'll investigate why it doesn't bid properly.
Let's enter the Bidder detail!
At first, we check at the website level to see that Index Exchange is generating revenue on this website for the current day and bids fine.
So we'll check the situation by ad slot by using the breakdown dashboard. Indeed, on all ad slots found on the website, two of them have a very low Bid rate.
By checking the Device breakdown, we'll be able to investigate on the problem. We realize the issue is concerning Mobile ad slots.
By filtering on Mobile while on the Ad Units breakdown, it is clear that there is a setup issue regarding Index Exchange on Mobile.
We identified the location where there is an anomaly and we'll be able to investigate more deeply to find a solution.
